Stereobooks feature built-in stereo speakers, so readers feel surrounded by sound as they listen to the 15 action-packed scenes in each book.
Wolves howl and humpback whales sing their haunting melodies in Wild Animals, which uses actual recordings of animal sounds.
Through 15 spreads with high-quality stereo sound scenes and exciting, realistic illustrations, kids enter the world of wild animals.
With the push of a button, each spread comes alive as stereo scenarios play from two speakers (one of either side of the book).

A: Great book!
We bought this book a week ago, and it's now the first thing my 21-month-old son runs to in the mornings.
There are 15 double-page illustrated spreads on various animals: lions and elephants, wolves, birds, whales, gibbons, bats, hawks and prairie dogs, elephant seals, grizzly bears, mustangs, bighorn sheep, penguins, gorillas, wildebeest, and alligators. When you push the number indicated on the pages, the book plays the sounds of the animals, such as mustangs stampeding.
Three really great features: (1) a box in yellow tells you exactly what's happening in both the sound and picture; (2) other boxes point out and explain features of the animals pictured; and (3) a small box shows the part of the world where the animals live. We read and talk about each of the animals as we play the sounds. He has learned to beat his chest when the gorilla sound is played (or even when he sees any gorilla picture now), and he trots his toy horse during the stampede. We bring in his other animals and puppets to play along with the sounds. So far we have no damage to the paper pages. I think this is a book he will love for many years.
Two notes: The animals are either hunting, fighting, threatening to fight, or fleeing. Which is what wild animals do. Also, like just about everything else for kids, the book uses three AAA batteries.
B: Great Book!
Our son received this book as a gift on his second birthday. He *loves* it. The animal sounds are true-to-life and fit the photo-illustrations. The recordings are long enough to sound accurate but short enough that they don't become annoying. Our son is able to match the numerals from the pages to the corresponding buttons that activate the recordings, and is able to interact with this book independently. He also likes the variety of animals: whales, wolves, monkeys, bats, and kookaburras. We've had this book over 8 months and have not had to change the batteries. Another feature we like is the volume control. This is, by far, the best book-with-sound we've read, and we continue to enjoy having it in our library.
C: Wonderful Book
We purchased this book for our animal crazy 3 year old daughter. She loves it! We've had this book for about 6 months now and it's still one of her favorites. The pictures are fantastic, very realistic, the information is great. The sounds are of course, what makes it! It's even helping her identify numbers by looking at the picture and matching that number so she can make the sounds on her own! Wonderful book.
Recommended for ages 5 years and older.
Battery replacement.
