A:Cute, unique illustrated book that combines sounds, flaps and textures!
...To buy the best out there, I look at the quality, size and variety of textures as well as the durability of the board book itself. If I'm going to buy a board book, instead of just check it out from the library, I want a book that can be read and reread with new discoveries.
This is my favorite tactile book because it combines sounds, flaps, and textures. Most other books including other Usborne titles only have one of the three. It does not have a lot of text; that's likely the only downside to this book. The text includes short questions like "Who's hiding?" and "Chirp chirp." This is more a book you talk about rather than read.
This book has scenes (amusement park, train, garden, etc) with corresponding sounds, the scenes could be considered too busy for younger babies. The idea is to press the sound button when you see its image in the book. There is very little story or text on each page but there is a lot "happening" on each page to talk about with a toddler. The textures are a good size. The colors are very vibrant. My son loves music and he enjoys pressing the sound buttons.
B: Amazing book for babies!
My daughter LOVES this book. She got it at 9 months, and 3 months later it is still her favorite. She will pull it off the bookshelf on her own and "read" it for 20 minutes at a time. It is really sturdy, and the flaps hold up well.
