BackYardigans is a Canadian 3-D CGI-animated children's TV series, created by Janice Burgess, for children ages 2 to 5, and debuted on Nick Jr in 2004.
The characters were designed by Dan Yaccarino, a children's book author and illustrator.
Five preschool friends — Pablo (one bubbly blue penguin), Tyrone (the red-haired orange moose), Uniqua (a unique pink ladybug-like creature), Tasha (a bossy yellow hippo), and Austin (an easy going purple kangaroo)— rely on their vivid imaginations to transform their backyard into completely different worlds, in which they go through many sorts of stories and adventures.
These lovable characters will inspire children to sing and dance along, and to stretch their imaginations as they climb up mountains, slide down glaciers, and sail across oceans.
